This browser mode creates one transparent 50/50 blend for inspection. It does not claim neural or optical-flow interpolation and does not export a high-FPS video.

What it is

New moments between recorded moments.

Frame interpolation estimates visual states between frames that already exist. A 24 FPS source contains 24 recorded samples per second; a 60 FPS delivery needs 36 additional temporal samples for every second of footage.

Blending only overlaps neighboring frames. Motion-aware methods estimate where objects travel, handle occlusion, and synthesize newly visible detail. Neural systems can improve difficult movement, but may also invent texture or deform fine structures.

How it works

Three stages, one continuity problem.

01

Read motion

Compare neighboring frames and identify cuts, edges, objects, and camera movement.

02

Estimate the gap

Predict where visible features should be at each missing timestamp.

03

Encode the result

Schedule generated frames, preserve audio timing, and re-encode at the target FPS.

Use cases

Choose the reason before the rate.

Slow motion

Create additional temporal samples before stretching playback.

24 → 60 FPS

Reduce judder for motion-heavy delivery while preserving duration.

Animation inbetweening

Support rough timing between key poses, with artist review.

Archive playback

Prepare old footage carefully while retaining the untouched source.

Sports and games

Smoother rapid tracking can expose warping around limbs and equipment.

Make the distinction

Interpolation preserves motion. Generation invents it.

Frame interpolation

Starts from an existing video and adds temporal samples between recorded frames. The expected path is constrained by neighboring footage.

Frame to video

Starts from one or more still images and invents a new sequence, action, camera path, and intermediate visual information.

Common questions

Before you interpolate.

What does AI frame interpolation do?+

It generates intermediate visual states between existing video frames to increase temporal sampling or support slower playback.

Can this page export a 60 or 120 FPS video?+

Not yet. The current browser tool analyzes timing and creates one blend preview; it does not pretend to run a production interpolation model.

Why can interpolation create artifacts?+

Occlusion, cuts, flashes, transparent materials, text, spokes, and fast deformation make the missing visual state ambiguous.

Is interpolation the same as frame-to-video?+

No. Interpolation follows motion already present in footage; frame-to-video invents a new clip from still-image anchors.

Need generated motion instead?
